Welcome to The Gazette’s latest way to bring you news. Yes, technically this is a blog, but don’t think of this as just another place for online conversation. Consider it a new source for health-related news in the Pikes Peak region and elsewhere; an ongoing conversation with a Gazette health reporter and his many sources.

Here, you will see stories before they go to print. Sometimes you’ll find stories that don’t appear in print at all. And my hope is to offer you not just news, but the process in which it develops. Conversations that once took place on a phone between reporter and source may now unfold through comments, discussion groups, social networking and e-mails.

There will be mistakes, and we’ll fix them. You’ll help me catch them, in fact. We’ll try a few things that undoubtedly will flop. We’ll adapt as needed.
